Nasturtiums blooming on April 1 2019, picture taken by JPN on her telephone camera.  Looks like this picture taken in the back  garden.

Yesterday was April fools day. I woke up at 8.20am to a world full of sunshine, although a little chilly. I was reminded of the song from Hair….. Good morning sunshine, the earth says hello, you twinkle above we tremble below”……..Am I remembering that song correctly? At the end of the day all the snow from the lion exiting March had melted off, well most of it.!

Nasturtiums are flowers sometimes used in salads. They were found in Peru and taken to Europe. Their common name, Indian cress refers both to their place of origin and their taste, similar to watercress. My planting season has just begun and I am hoping to plant a packet of seeds in a pot to start adding them to our salads this spring and summer.
