My daughter had her birthday earlier this month, the 50th. I have one daughter only, and one son. She came up to visit a couple of days before her birthday, and we went out to dinner at my neighbourhood pub, which put us into a side room as my 16 year old granddaughter was with us….so not permitted in the pub proper. Her 20 year old sister was with us also. It is a rare treat for me that we all get together… three or four times a year, given our various schedules, though these days, I am the one with the least demanding schedule.
Afterwards, while the oldest daughter studied, the rest of us went to a shop and my daughter tried on a few items of clothes, and we got her 3 dresses and a skirt. What fun it was and while the clothes are not expensive, it was a real joy to know that over Christmas, my daughter would have some pretty clothes to wear. Quality is not the priority these days, as it was in my youth. So this month, I will pinch pennies, because I splurged. I had planned that for a while.
Hallowe’en saw me in Victoria, the capital city of my province, mulling over my relationship with a friend, and whether or not it would continue. At this age, it is surprisingly painful. Ultimately, I will not give him up. He is too precious to me.

Thank you for that picture of your daughter’s 50th Birthday party, I could feel your joy! I am looking forward to enjoying my grandchildren this weekend at Disneyland, can’t wait to get on the “It’s a small world afterall” ride with them, their parent’s favorite. Making more memories!
