Recently, I celebrated Mother’s day with a three hour train trip in my local state park with part of my family, followed by dinner at a local Japanese restaurant.  From my absent  children, flowers, long phone calls and Facebook greetings filled the rest of the day.

For lunch on the train I had a delicious sandwich of Turkey and Gouda Cheese with lots of spring water.

In the evening we went to a local Japanese restaurant for dinner, where I enjoyed a salad and Alaska rolls dipped in Soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.

Total price of my meal $16.20, right on budget, even if I didn’t pay for it.

Add to this warm hugs from my family and you have the most delightful Mother’s day ever, full of simple pleasures!  To linger in the memory,  I will try to root the rose and repot the impatients plant.   Any tips?  Please leave comments.
